Erodium rodiei (Br-Bl)Poiron
Perennial herb, with a long taproot with a red-brown skin; crown of tufted dwarf stems barely above ground level but not dying down in winter.
Leaf: leaf lamina 3-5cm, ovate in outline, dissected to linear pinnules, and with intercalary leaflets; Petiole rather long; stipules adnate on half or more of their length, triangular or broadly triangular.
Inflorescence: Umbels of 2-10 flowers, 2.5-3cm diameter; petals more than 15 mm, deep pink, subequal, round tipped, veins same colour as petals; nectaries equal, sub-bilobed, wider than tall; staminodes pink; stamen filaments pink; anthers purple; pollen orange; stigma purple.
Fruit: Rostrum 3-4.5cm; mericarp 7-10mm; foveole auriculate in appearance, not ciliate bordered; cotyledons trilobed. 2n=20 Guitt
Distribution: endemic to France (Alps-Maritimes, Grasse) at 900-1100m, on dolomite and marble cliffs.
